Painting Watercolor Guest portraits in Hood River, OR

Watercolor guests paintings are becoming more and more popular, and I see that reflected in my business as over 80% of my booked weddings (and inquiries) are for guest favors! I have zero problem with that since watercolor is my first love (before acrylics!) and I’ve actually been painting faceless people since 2013! (Wow lol)

But back to the wedding day of Molly and Melza, in Hood River, Oregon. Anyone who has been there knows it’s such a gorgeous place, and the venue, The Griffen House, was no exception.

The ceremony backdrop!

A huge shout out to my bestie, Izzie, who flew out from Chicago to help with the wedding! (Ok so we may have been planning a trip anyways, but she’s also an amazing artist, and so we thought it would be awesome to paint at a wedding together, and WE WEREN’T WRONG. 😂)

We drove from Bend, and after freshening up from the drive, we arrived at the Griffen House a little before the reception to set up, and got started on painting as soon as the guests started trickling out of the ceremony. Everyone was so excited to see us there painting, and were eager to get their own painting!

We painted around 70 people that evening, then I returned home after and finished the remainder of the paintings (mostly just the family photos!) to be shipped to the bride afterwards.

And of course, Izzie and I had to explore Hood River, and pop on over to Portland and do a little sight seeing.

Thank you for following along and reading this far! I loved every moment of the day (except the mosquitos lol) and the brides were LOVELY and all their guests were so kind and fun!
